Первый приз конкурса на городскую среду 2010 года получил проект в порту Тель Авива. Созданный рельеф повторяет естественные для этого места очертания песчаных дюн. Индикатором удачного проекта служит то, что после открытия порт в миг был "оживлен" разнообразными спортивными соревнованиями и театральными перфомансами. Люди начали стекаться в обновленный порт, еще до завершения строительных работ.

Tel Aviv seaport project won the the 1st prize at the 2010 urban environment competition. Artificial relief repeats usual for this place dune shapes. The successful indication of a good project is that being just opened the seaport was immediately enlivened with various sport events and cultural performances. People began to gather at the renewed port even before final constructional works.

Сегодняшний дом мы посчитали крайне удачным предметом интеграции в архитектуре. Идея и исполнение покорили деликатностью и изяществом исполнения. На участке находилась полуразрушенная кирпичная голубятня XIX века, которую не стали сносить. Внутрь старых стен при помощи крана поместили цельную конструкцию нового дома из кортеновской стали. Это такие ржавые листы, специфика которых состоит в том, что, раз заржавев, они навсегда сохраняют благородно-коричневый цвет. Такова особенность окисной пленки стали, которая не размывается водой.

We believe that today's house is a well-done example of architectural integration. The idea and realisation of this project have won us with it's tact and graceful implemetation. There was an old 19th century dovecote at the site that was left undestroyed. The new house's body made of corten steel was put inside the old building with a crane. The peculiarity of corten steel is that once rusted it keeps noble brown colour forever. It is caused by a waterproof oxide layer on the surface of that kind of metal.

Wolfgang Bloch - американский художник-абстракционист. Родился в Эквадоре и все детство провел на солнечных пляжах, катаясь на серфе. Постоянный контакт с чистой природой задал вектор его творчества. С помощью цвета и естественной текстуры поверхностей его холстов художник создает бесконечный океан и идеальные линии волн. В стилистике явно чувствуется влияние мастера Марка Ротко. У Bloch идея режет поверхность холста, словно серф - волну. Он один из тех, благодаря кому многие искусствоведы задумались о переходе серф-арт в статус серьезного, музейного искусства.

Нас поразил факт, что чуть более тридцати лет назад Барселона была неухоженным портовым городом. Но грамотная программа развития смогла в рекордные сроки преобразить ее в образцовый современный город, с одной из самой лучших в мире городской средой. В Барселоне истинно выдающийся средовой дизайн. И в первую очередь мы хотим рассказать здесь про парк Diagonal Mar. Он был создан в рамках проекта реорганизации северных портовых зон города к Форуму 2004 года на территории старой фабрики.
Это совершенно невероятный для привычного нам понимания парк. Индустриальный, и в то же время очень человечный по своему масштабу. Завораживают фантастические переплетения металлических конструкций, которые, помимо декоративной функции, являются сложными инженерными оросительными системами. Парк по сути существует на самообеспечении.
И вот еще, что здорово, каждый год в августе по вечерам вторника в парке проходят концерты классической музыки.

We were quite surprised with the fact that about 30 years ago Barcelona was just an untidy seaport. But smart developing programme transformed the city's look within short period of time and turned Barcelona into exemplary city with one the world's best urban environment. It has truly extraordinary environment design. First of all we'd like to tell you about Diagonal Mar park. It was created during the nortern seaport zones reorganization project at the territory of an old factory in 2004.
This is a fabulous example that goes contrary to our usual undestanding of the parks. Industial but very humane in its scale at the same time. Fantastic charming interweavings of metal constructions, which, apart from their decorational function, are also complex irrigation system. So the park's existence is fully self-sufficient.
And another cool thing about this place is that there are classical music concerts every tuesday night in August.
